BACKGROUND
Dr Breadsell grew up on a farm west of Dalby and completed his medical training at James Cook University. He worked as a junior doctor in North Queensland, where he completed his Master of Public Health & Tropical Medicine, and his introductory and basic anaesthetic training. He then moved to Brisbane for advanced anaesthetic training, working between the Princess Alexandra Hospital, the Mater Hospital, and the Queensland Children’s Hospital. He undertook a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia & Medical Perfusion at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, with training in transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).

Dr Breadsell works as a Staff Specialist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and privately throughout several hospitals in Brisbane. He maintains his interest in rural and regional anaesthesia through his work on the Board of Examiners for the Diploma of Rural Generalist Anaesthesia (DRGA) for the Australian and New Zealand College Anaesthetists (ANZCA).

OTHER INTERESTS
Outside of medicine, Dr Breadsell enjoys a long run around the river or walking his dog. He also enjoys sports, particularly watching and supporting the Broncos and the Lions.
