INTERESTS IN ANAESTHESIA
Anaesthesia for general surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, interventional pain procedures and obstetrics.

BACKGROUND
Dr Casey completed undergraduate medical training (MBBS) at the University of Queensland in 2006, graduating with First Class Honours and a University Medal. He undertook anaesthesia training in Queensland and was awarded Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2016. He has been a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) since 2016 and was appointed a Supervisor of Training in 2022.
Dr Casey’s practice includes a wide range of anaesthesia for most surgical specialties including general surgery, vascular surgery, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, interventional pain procedures and obstetrics. He is a member of the RBWH Acute Pain Management Service and the Australian and New Zealand Anaesthetic Allergy Group (ANZAAG).

OTHER INTERESTS
Outside of medicine, Dr Casey loves spending time with his family, bushwalking and supporting his children in their sporting pursuits, currently netball and soccer. Although he also loves listening to Johnny Cash music in the car, he is constantly outvoted so usually listens to Frozen songs or ABBA instead.
