BACKGROUND
Dr Cooke completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at The University of Queensland in 1998. She went on to study and complete her anaesthetic training in Queensland and was awarded her Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2006 and her Pain Medicine Fellowship at the The Professor Tess Cramond Multidisciplinary Pain Centre at Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital (RBWH) in 2007.

Dr Cooke has worked as a consultant anaesthetist and pain medicine specialist at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, UK and Seattle Children’s Hospital, Seattle USA. She currently works in private and public practice at The Queensland Children’s Hospital (LCCH) and in private practice at several hospitals throughout Brisbane. She also consults in pain medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital.

Dr Cooke volunteers providing anaesthetic support and education to Operation Smile in Hanoi Vietnam, Cure International in Honduras and Deadly Ears in Rural Queensland. She is also involved in pain education and advocacy as a co-founder and director of Support Kids in Pain, Queensland’s only not for profit organisation providing interdisciplinary care for children suffering from chronic pain and their families.

Dr Cooke is currently on the Medical Advisory Board at St Vincent’s Hospital, Brisbane.

Outside of her busy practice, Dr Cooke enjoys horse riding, kayaking, hiking and travel.
