BACKGROUND
Following a Science Degree at the University of Queensland, Dr Smith completed his undergraduate medical degree at The Flinders University of South Australia in 1999. After working in South Australia, Northern Territory and Far North Queensland he settled back in South East Queensland to commence his anaesthetic training in 2008. Dr Smith received his Specialist Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetist (FANZCA) in 2013.

Dr Smith works in both the public and private sectors and his practice includes a wide range of anaesthesia for most surgical specialties. He enjoys interaction with and teaching of anaesthetic registrars.

OTHER INTERESTS
Outside of medicine, Dr Smith enjoys spending time with his wife and 3 children. His other interests include Christianity, travel, aviation, cinema and triathlon.
