 Background
Born and raised in North Queensland, Ben completed his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery at The University of Queensland in 2005. After his resident years in Townsville and Brisbane, he completed his anaesthesia training in South East Queensland and his cardiac anaesthesia fellowship at Toronto General Hospital in 2012.

Canada piqued Ben’s interest in critical care, and then he returned to Australia to start intensive care training in 2013 after the award of his anaesthetic fellowship (FANZCA). Since completing ICU training in 2016, Dr Cerutti splits his working life evenly between the Princess Alexandra Hospital’s Anaesthetic and Intensive Care Departments.

Other interests
Outside of medicine, Dr Cerutti spends his spare time with his partner and 2 young children, gardening, reading, or exercising.
