Ultrasound Guided Regional Anaesthesia, Medical Education via Simulations

BACKGROUND
Dr Chang completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 2008 and was admitted as a fellow of the college of Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2018. In 2017, he was also trained by Monash Health as a simulation instructor.

He spent his training years at major tertiary hospitals in Brisbane, including the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and The Prince Charles Hospital while completing his final year at Redcliffe Hospital. He now divides his time between private and public hospitals, working as a staff specialist at Redcliffe Hospital and still maintains interest in registrar training, holding an Associate Lecturer position at the University of Queensland. For a few years, he was the lead for regional anaesthesia at Redcliffe Hospital during which he designed their regional block trolley and rib fracture pathway for the hospital which has since been adopted by others in the greater Brisbane region. Dr Chang has been a workshop facilitator at courses for regional anaesthesia for emergency physicians and nurses around metro north hospitals.

Anaesthesia to him is an artform, tailored for each individual and his ultimate goal is delivering quality anaesthetic care to his patients while working closely with his surgical colleagues.
