BACKGROUND
Dr Trappett was educated in Brisbane, and completed his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1998. His training in Anaesthesia was completed in Queensland and he obtained his Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2006.
In his final year of training, he undertook a fellowship at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Cardiac Anaesthesia. In 2007 he completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Perioperative and Critical Care Echocardiography through the University of Melbourne.
Dr Trappett is a Visiting Medical Officer at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in the Cardiac Anaesthesia Department, and has recently been involved with the establishment of the Structural Heart Program for Trans-Catheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVI). He also provides anaesthesia for cardiac patients at Greenslopes Private and Wesley Hospitals.
In addition, Dr Trappett provides anaesthetic services for a broad range of surgical specialities, including thoracic, general, colorectal, bariatric (weight loss), orthopaedic and neurosurgery.
He maintains an ongoing role in teaching as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland, and has presented at national and regional conferences.

In his spare time Dr Trappett enjoys photography and astronomy.
