SPECIAL INTERESTS IN ANAESTHESIA
Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia, Transoesophageal Echocardiography.

BACKGROUND
Dr Forrest completed her postgraduate medical degree at Griffith University in 2015 and graduated with the University Medal. She began anaesthetic speciality training in 2018 on the Gold Coast, having completed a Master of Medicine in Critical Care and working in the intensive care unit. Throughout her training she worked at the Gold Coast University Hospital, Robina Hospital, Varsity Day Procedure Hospital and Logan Hospital. Before medicine she completed a Biomedical Science and Arts degree, studying Mandarin at the University of Queensland.

In 2023, Dr Forrest was awarded Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA). She completed an anaesthetic fellowship at Gold Coast University Hospital and went on to complete a fellowship in cardiac anaesthesia and critical care at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Canada. She now works as a Staff Specialist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and was recently awarded an ANZCA Research Grant to study cell salvage blood quality in conjunction with Griffith University. She also works in several hospitals throughout Brisbane in her private practice.

Dr Forrest has an interest in all anaesthesia specialities, including cardiothoracic surgery. She is a firm advocate of safe patient centred perioperative care.

OTHER INTERESTS
Outside of medicine, Dr Forrest enjoys scuba diving, travelling, reformer Pilates and cycling.
