BACKGROUND
A 2003 graduate of The University of Queensland Medical School, Dr Slykerman achieved Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2013, including a Fellowship at the Brisbane Royal Children’s Hospital. Prior to this, she completed her General Practice Fellowship in family practices in both Brisbane and Rockhampton.

After 12 years at The Prince Charles Hospital, and with the Deadly Ears ENT Outreach Program via the QLD Children’s Hospital, Dr Slykerman now works exclusively in private practice at hospitals throughout Brisbane, where she enjoys providing comprehensive perioperative care for her patients. Dr Slykerman is a regular instructor, and instructor trainer, on the Advanced Life Support (ALS) Course and Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) Course.

Dr Slykerman appreciates that having an operation or procedure can sometimes be a stressful experience and is well known for her kindness, compassion, and good humour, whilst providing high quality, evidence-based care for her patients.

Her practice includes anaesthesia for a wide range of surgical and medical specialities, including general and orthopaedic surgery, ENT and maxillofacial surgery, breast and endocrine surgery, urology and gynaecological surgery and procedures.

OTHER INTERESTS
Dr Slykerman enjoys yoga, theatre, swimming, and hiking in wild places. She is especially fond of cooking, regularly testing out new recipes on family and friends.
