Dr Chakrabarti grew up in a small town in South Wales, he completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Sheffield, UK in 2000. Upon completing his medical training, his love for travel took him to Townsville, North Queensland where he worked as a Junior Doctor before returning to the UK for further specialist training.

After completing training in both Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine, Dr Chakrabarti returned to Queensland in 2012, working in Brisbane as a Senior Staff Specialist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH). He joined Wickham Terrace Anaesthesia at the end of 2016.

Aside from his clinical interest areas, Dr Chakrabarti is committed to medical education, and teaches students and doctors on a regular basis. His interest is in improving patient outcomes in emergency situations. He teaches Advanced Life Support courses nationally, and additionally designs and runs high fidelity simulations for doctors at RBWH.

Dr Chakrabarti loves to play the trumpet, much to the annoyance of his wife!
