BACKGROUND
Dr Purcell completed her undergraduate medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1996. She went on to gain experience in a range of medical fields including rural medicine, intensive care medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology before pursuing anaesthetic training. She completed her specialist anaesthetic training in 2011 after undertaking a Fellowship in Neuroanaesthesia at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH).
Dr Purcell currently works part time as a Senior Staff Specialist at the RBWH and in private practice at several hospitals throughout Brisbane. She is an Associate Lecturer in Anaesthesia at The University of Queensland and is actively involved in the teaching of junior medical staff and anaesthetic trainees.
OTHER INTERESTS
Dr Purcell enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.
