BACKGROUND
Dr Trembath has a passion for, and has undertaken fellowships in, regional anaesthesia and acute pain management at the Royal Brisbane & Womens’ Hospital (RBWH), and paediatric anaesthesia at the Queensland Childrens’ Hospital (QCH). He currently combines his private practice with his role as a staff specialist at the Royal Brisbane & Womens’ Hospital where he is the clinical lead in regional anaesthesia, and as a specialist at the Queensland Childrens’ Hospital. An experienced general clinician, Dr Trembath has also undertaken additional training in emergency medicine, paediatrics and paediatric ICU.
Dr Trembath is heavily involved in medical education and lectures locally, nationally, and internationally on anaesthetics, regional anaesthesia, and critical care medicine. He has a particular interest in developing world medicine having worked and lectured in the Solomon Islands, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and Sri Lanka, and he currently runs the online medical education program for Anaesthetic trainees throughout the Pacific for ANZCA.
Dr Trembath also holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology, he is a compassionate anaesthetist who understands that any surgical procedure can be stressful for his patients and he aims to individualise his patients’ care to optimise their perioperative journey.
OTHER INTERESTS
Outside of medicine Dr Trembath loves nothing more than spending time outdoors with his young family, escaping for an occasional surf on the Sunshine Coast, and managing the stress of following his beloved Adelaide Crows
