BACKGROUND
Dr Duffy grew up in far north Queensland and completed her undergraduate medical training at the University of Queensland in 1986 where she graduated with honours. She was awarded her Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 1995. Dr Duffy was the Chair of Cardiac Anaesthesia and Perfusion at the Princess Alexandra Hospital from 2001-2003 where she oversaw the expansion of the cardiac unit. She is heavily involved in teaching perfusion simulation to junior consultants.
Dr Duffy completed a post-graduate diploma in Peri-operative and Critical Care Echocardiography at the University of Melbourne in 2006, where she authored Deep Hypothermic Arrest and co-authored Intra-aortic Balloon Pump chapters.
Dr Duffy works in public and private practice in many hospitals in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
