SPECIAL INTERESTS IN ANAESTHESIA
Anaesthesia for Vascular Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Perioperative Medicine.

BACKGROUND
Dr Whately completed an undergraduate degree in law before going on to complete her medical degree at the University of Sydney 2004. Dr Whately completed her specialty training with the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) in 2013.

Dr Whately has an active role in training junior doctors, as an examiner for the final fellowship examination and as the Education Officer for Queensland with the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA).

Dr Whately’s practice includes a wide range of anaesthesia for most surgical specialties, including vascular, obstetrics, orthopaedics and trauma. She is also interested in perioperative medicine and shared decision making with patients. She is a senior staff specialist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and works privately at a number of hospitals throughout Brisbane.

OTHER INTERESTS
Outside of medicine, Dr Whately spends her time with her family and two dogs. She enjoys bushwalking, yoga and snowboarding when she can get to a mountain!
